The Ilot Pasteur project consists of the construction of an urban complex at the western entrance of the Principality. It was initiated almost twenty years ago, when the old railway located at this location was decommissioned.
In the coming years, this project will see the light of day and will include several facilities for the community, such as a middle school with 1,500 students, an amphitheater with 300 seats, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a media library and a multipurpose room with 1,500 seats. It will also include workspaces, such as offices of nearly 8,000 square meters, as well as a centre for the collection, sorting and transfer of recycled urban waste and a postal sorting centre. The complex will be completed by a car park with 900 spaces and a data center. This new complex is close to many residences in which our agency offers apartments for rent and sale as for example in the building Le Méridien.
The new middle school of Monaco, replacing the current middle school Charles III, will be finalised in spring 2024 and ready to welcome students in September of the same year. The 30-meter-high building will have five classroom levels and will accommodate up to 1,500 students, as well as an 8-line swimming pool, a gymnasium and a 300-seat auditorium. The two playgrounds will be located on the roof and ground floor.
The new, highly anticipated Léo Ferré concert hall will offer the same capacity as the old one, that is to say 1,200 seats and 1,900 standing places. This cultural establishment will be modular, which will allow the seats to be tucked into the floor and the bleachers to be completely retracted if necessary. Located under the forecourt, it will be accessible by an intermediate pedestrian street and connected to the Honoré II promenade by a large monumental staircase. This same pedestrian street will also provide access to the college swimming pool, auditorium and gymnasium. The new media library, managed by Monaco City Hall, will be built on two levels and accessible from the Promenade Honoré II.
The delivery of the Ilot Pasteur will be done in several stages, with that of the middle school, offices and car park scheduled for the end of 2023 and that of the Léo Ferré space, postal sorting and other entities scheduled for mid-2024, unless unforeseen. Once completed, this architectural complex will also offer a pedestrian flow in the extension of the Honoré II promenade, creating a pleasant place to walk.
