The Principality of Monaco extends over 2.02 square kilometers and includes 11 districts. Despite its small size, the country of the Grimaldi family is steeped in history and charm. Over the decades, the territory has been massively urbanized and this continues with several large-scale projects. The inhabitants are of different nationalities, the official language is French, but also Monegasque. The population is composed mainly of French, Italians, British. The principality is known for its many restaurants and hotels. The recently renovated Hotel de Paris is the best known. It offers sumptuous apartments including the Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly suites, which can reach a price of several thousand euros per night. Located between Italy and France, it is bordering with several districts of the city of Beausoleil. The Prince's Palace, located in the Monaco-Ville district, a true Monegasque emblem, overlooks the city and its inhabitants. The view from the Place du Palais over the Condamine district is breathtaking!
La Condamine is the commercial district of Monaco and enjoys a central location, between the Port and the Rock. Several shops and restaurants, bordered by gardens, welcome you for your outings in the city centre. Its market in the colors of the South is located on the Place d'Armes and is full of local specialties, organic and 100% French fruits and vegetables. Above it is the district of Monaco-Ville, also called "Le Rocher", it is the oldest in the Principality. It also offers typical shops with items at all prices. The National Council as well as the other institutions of Monaco are located on the Rock.
In the center of it you will find the Oceanographic Museum with its view overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, nature and many gardens are typical of this district. The west of the territory is home to the Fontvieille district, entirely built on the sea. This is home to different types of apartments for sale and rental. Our advice, visit the Princess Grace rose garden.
The district of Fontvieille Monaco is overlooked by that of the Exotic Garden, combining modern architecture and old buildings. Access to French territory is in this district. This is home to veritable exotic gardens, collections of plants from all over the world. You will find in this district the new complex “L’Exotique”, a luxury residence where several properties are for sale and for rent. Thanks to the natural drop, you will be able to admire a breathtaking view of the whole Principality and discover the Casino or even the new Anse du Portier district from a whole new perspective.
Further east are the Carré d’Or and Monte-Carlo districts, these two sectors hosting, among other things, the legendary Casino and luxury hotels. The Hermitage hotel also offers apartments for rent. The banking and real estate sectors are thriving and offer different types of investments. Our real estate agency is also located in this popular area.
Often, we confuse the area of Monte-Carlo with the capital of the country! Although this district concentrates luxury residences, the largest jewelry houses and a large part of the buildings of the Société des Bains de Mers (Le Casino, Le One Monte-Carlo, Hôtel de Paris), it is it's just a neighborhood. The capital of Monaco is simply Monaco! This district is the most populated in the Principality, its luxury residences, its buildings in the style of Belle Époque houses make this area very attractive.
The Larvotto, on the other hand, is located facing the sea, in the immediate vicinity of the new, recently renovated seaside resort. You will find different types of shops in this area. The latter is ideal for feeling on vacation all year round, a few steps from Monaco's new eco-district, Anse du Portier, also called "Mareterra", which alone represents the future of the Principality.
L'Anse du Portier offers state-of-the-art buildings, apartments for sale and rental built with the idea of respecting the environment. Due to its location a few steps from the Casino de Monaco and the Carré d'Or, this new extension at sea will undoubtedly be a great success.
Finally, the districts of La Rousse-Saint Roman, Les Moneghetti and Ravin Saint Dévote are also very interesting. Discover on this page in detail all the districts of Monaco.
