The Monte Carlo Beach Club is an exceptional place for lovers of the beach and refinement. Situated in the Bay of Cap-Martin, at the edge of the Principality of Monaco, just past the Larvotto district, this prestigious club features a private beach and offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Inaugurated in 1928–1929, it is an integral part of the Monte-Carlo Beach – an iconic Art Deco hotel renovated in 2009 by designer India Mahdavi – and offers 40 sea-facing rooms and suites, decorated with noble materials and meticulous attention to detail. Nearly a century after its creation, the Monte Carlo Beach Club embodies Mediterranean living and Monaco luxury “at the beach” more strongly than ever.
This seaside gem fits perfectly into the history of the Principality, which you can discover in detail thanks to our comprehensive dossier on All About the Principality of Monaco, which traces the culture and unique characteristics of this territory. The Jacquemus-coloured beach in 2026
Jacquemus dresses the Monte-Carlo Beach once again for the summer of 2026, on the theme of 1950s Mediterranean beach clubs. The installation remains in place until 27 September 2026.
The palette changes radically from the previous year: the banana yellow of 2025 gives way to mint blue and coconut white, picked out with touches of black. Diagonal stripes run across the sunbeds, the parasols, the towels and the jetty, the Pool Bar has been redesigned, and a photobooth inspired by the Plage collection completes the set-up. Two pop-up boutiques, open from 10am to 7pm, welcome members and passing visitors alike, with a window dedicated to the Hôtel de Paris.
A dream private beach
The private beach of the Monte Carlo Beach Club, open each year from April to October, is a true exclusive haven for its clientele. It is equipped with 200 tents, 90 cabins, and 30 sun decks, ensuring privacy and comfort for regular guests. Under the iconic striped canopies, the plush sunbeds and umbrellas offer an idyllic setting to relax peacefully facing the deep blue sea. A majestic Olympic seawater pool, heated to around 28 °C, also extends by the shore – equipped with two Art Deco–inspired terracotta diving boards – inviting both athletic laps and refreshing swims. To ensure safety and serenity, a team of lifeguards closely monitors the pool and beach.
The Monte Carlo Beach Club is a paradise for adults and families alike. A dedicated Kids Club for 4–12-year-olds offers various fun and educational activities supervised by qualified staff, allowing children to play safely while parents enjoy the facilities. Everyone finds their place: while kids participate in creative workshops or learn to swim, adults can relax on the private beach, take a dip in the pool, or sip a cocktail under a tent.
For the more active, the Monte Carlo Beach Club offers a multitude of water and sports activities. Thrill-seekers can try flyboarding, parasailing, towable tubes, water skiing, or jet-ski excursions along the coast. Those seeking relaxation can opt for paddleboarding, pedal boating, or kayaking to quietly enjoy the marine scenery. In 2023, two brand-new padel tennis courts were added to the club’s facilities, reflecting the growing popularity of this social sport in the Principality. Outdoor fitness classes, yoga, Pilates, and even relaxing massages are also offered to enhance visitors’ days. The Monte Carlo Beach Club ensures that every family member lives unforgettable moments, between aquatic leisure, wellness, and seaside pleasures.
Exclusive access for a privileged experience
Choosing a private beach in Monaco offers unique advantages over public beaches in terms of comfort and privacy. The Monte Carlo Beach Club was originally a sanctuary reserved for its members and guests staying at the Hôtel Monte-Carlo Beach or certain Société des Bains de Mer palaces. However, contrary to what one might think, this luxury venue is not completely closed to the public. In season (mid-April to mid-October), the Beach Club also opens its doors to outside visitors, provided they reserve in advance and pay a daily entrance fee. In other words, you don’t need to be a guest at a Monaco hotel to enjoy a day at the Monte Carlo Beach Club – anyone can access it for a fee, subject only to availability. It is strongly recommended to book your cabana or sunbed well in advance, especially during Monaco’s major events. During the Formula 1 Grand Prix or the Monaco Yacht Show, for example, you may need to book up to a month ahead to secure a spot due to high demand. In normal times, a few days to two weeks’ notice is enough to guarantee a day with your feet in the water. This controlled access policy ensures a premium seaside experience where each guest can savor luxury in peace, away from the crowds.
Gastronomy at the Monte Carlo Beach Club
After swimming and sunbathing, culinary delights continue at the Monte Carlo Beach Club’s various dining options. Elsa, the club’s gourmet restaurant, is a true jewel of haute French cuisine – it exclusively offers organic, locally sourced products and has been awarded a Michelin star for its excellence in sustainable and creative cooking. Under the direction of Michelin-starred Chef Marcel Ravin, Elsa elevates Mediterranean flavors in an elegant seaside setting.
La Vigie Lounge & Restaurant, perched on the tip of Cap Martin surrounded by pine trees, offers a festive and exotic culinary experience. This magical venue transforms with the seasons: in 2024, for example, it hosted the ephemeral Jondal concept (imported from Ibiza), offering sunny cuisine in a chic lounge atmosphere. In the evenings, La Vigie is perfect for lively dinners accompanied by music, with panoramic views of the bay.
Finally, Le Deck is the iconic brasserie located by the Olympic pool. Here you can enjoy a seasonal menu in a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Completely redesigned for the 2025 season, Le Deck was revitalized by interior architect Dorothée Delaye, who drew inspiration from the glamorous 1930s archives (the Coco Chanel era) to revive the venue’s original soul while modernizing it. The result is a timeless décor blending natural materials, vintage furniture, and seaside elegance, giving the impression that this restaurant “has always been part of Riviera history.” With these varied addresses – from starred gourmet dining to trendy lounge and chic brasserie – the Monte Carlo Beach Club satisfies all culinary desires, just steps from the sand.
Tent and sunbed rental rates at the Monte Carlo Beach Club
Please note: the amounts below are those of the price list published by the Société des Bains de Mer for the 2025 season, the most recent rates made public. The price list for the 2026 season had not been published at the date this page was updated.
The Monte Carlo Beach Club offers its clients the option to rent private spots, either for the entire season (subject to long waiting lists for the most coveted) or just for a day. Daily rates vary by month and chosen equipment. In June, the cost of renting a private tent for a day ranges from €200 to €300, plus an entrance fee of around €65 per person. In July and August, peak season, the price for a tent rises to between €300 and €370 per day, with an entrance fee of about €85 per person. The Beach Club also offers simple sunbed rentals for the day: expect to pay between €120 and €140 in June, and up to around €180 in the high season. These prices, subject to annual adjustments, reflect the exclusivity of the venue and include premium services (towels, beach service, etc.).
Despite these high amounts, a day at the Monte Carlo Beach Club remains a relatively accessible way to taste Monegasque luxury. For comparison, LUX magazine notes that a daily pass around €170 per person at the Beach Club represents only a fraction of the cost of a night in a Monte Carlo palace, yet offers similarly rich experiences. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself, spending the day at this legendary private beach is a luxury more within reach than one might think.
In summary, the Monte Carlo Beach Club is an idyllic setting to relax and enjoy the Mediterranean sun. Its glamorous ambiance and impeccable service make it a timeless venue. Nearly a century after its opening, this legendary club continues to evolve gently without losing its original soul – as evidenced by recent innovations such as the Jacquemus makeover, the modernization of Le Deck, and the addition of new activities – making it more essential than ever for anyone seeking an exceptional summer on the Côte d’Azur.

Is Monte-Carlo Beach in Monaco or in France?
Monte-Carlo Beach is located in France, in the commune of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, in the Alpes-Maritimes, and not on Monegasque territory. It is however owned by the Société des Bains de Mer, a Monegasque company.
This peculiarity explains much of the confusion among the public. The address is 20 avenue Princesse Grace, 06190 Roquebrune-Cap-Martin: the same avenue as in Monaco, but on the other side of the border. The establishment bears the Monte-Carlo name, applies the SBM codes and welcomes a largely Monegasque clientele, while falling under French law. For a buyer discovering the Principality, this is a useful reminder: the border here runs down the middle of an avenue, and a property a few hundred metres from the Beach Club may be Monegasque or French, with all the tax and administrative consequences that entails. Our conditions for living in Monaco set out what residency really involves.
Which buildings overlook the bay of Monte-Carlo Beach
Four Monegasque buildings open directly onto this bay: the Parc Saint Roman, the Résidence du Sporting, the Bay House and the Monte Carlo Sun. All stand at the eastern end of the Principality, in the Larvotto and La Rousse Saint-Roman districts.
The Parc Saint Roman dominates the sector from its elevated position, which gives it one of the widest perspectives over the bay and the Italian coast. The Résidence du Sporting sits lower but closer to the shore, in the direct continuation of avenue Princesse Grace.
The Bay House, from the Testimonio II programme, represents the most recent offering in this sector, with amenities designed for a demanding international clientele. The Monte Carlo Sun completes this group and remains one of the most sought-after addresses in La Rousse.
The asking prices recorded by our agency place Larvotto in 2026 at 70,820 €/m² and the La Rousse Saint-Roman sector at 55,516 €/m², for a Monegasque average of 59,929 €/m². The gap between these two neighbouring districts owes much to aspect and view.
Average of asking prices recorded by Petrini Exclusive Real Estate from January to June 2026. Asking prices and not recorded sale prices, order of magnitude, neither a valuation nor a binding document.
The 2026 season at Monte-Carlo Beach in practice
Monte-Carlo Beach reopened on 13 April 2026. The season comes this year with several notable changes.
The main one concerns La Vigie, now La Vigie Zanoni Monte-Carlo: the Italian chef Simone Zanoni has been in charge there since 12 June 2026 and until 13 September. The Elsa restaurant, led by Marcel Ravin and Domenico d’Antonio, opened on 15 April, Le Deck and its chef Pascal Garrigues as early as 13 April, and Maona Monte-Carlo with its Greek cuisine on 14 May, with a DJ from four in the afternoon.
As for facilities, the cabanas and the sunbeds have been redesigned by the architect Dorothée Delaye, a sea shuttle now links Port Hercule to Monte-Carlo Beach seven days a week in high season, the water sports centre opened on 1 May, and a Lamborghini space has taken its place near the sports facilities. The Kids Club by Petit VIP runs at weekends until 29 June, then every day until 30 August. The interiors remain by India Mahdavi.
The Olympic pool, for its part, does not change: seawater heated to 28 degrees and treated with ozone, a depth of 0.80 metre to 3.50 metres, two diving boards, and a blue fused glass mosaic that earned it the title of best hotel pool in Europe at the Villégiature Awards 2017.
