The Café de Paris Monte-Carlo: a long-awaited reopening

The reopening of the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo

After 19 months of transformation and an expenditure of 70 million euros invested by the Société des Bains de Mer, the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo reopened its doors on Tuesday 14 November, marking a new era of elegance and gastronomy in Monte-Carlo. This iconic establishment embodies a timeless "brasserie" spirit, and this reopening is a highly anticipated event for the people of Monaco and visitors from all over the world.

Reopening of an institution History

The Café de Paris Monte-Carlo, formerly known as "Le Café Divan," was founded in 1868. Over the years, it has become a veritable institution, bearing witness to the history and evolution of Monte-Carlo. Since its beginnings, it has been able to reinvent itself while preserving its charm and elegance, making it a place appreciated by all generations.

A Spectacular Metamorphosis

This reopening marks the impressive result of a 19-month metamorphosis. The Café de Paris Monte-Carlo has been redesigned and renovated to offer an even more exceptional experience to its customers. The building has been redesigned on three levels, with two levels dedicated to the brasserie of the Café de Paris and a third reserved for the Amazonico Monte-Carlo restaurant, a future international address of festive catering expected in spring 2024.

A brewery reinvented

The philosophy of the new Café de Paris Monte-Carlo is to offer the great classics of the French brasserie interpreted with greed and simplicity. The ground floor welcomes residents and visitors alike in a beautiful Art Nouveau setting, with restored historic stained glass windows, checkerboard marble, terrazzo mosaic, and special attention to light. A large zinc counter sits in the center of the room, inviting diners to enjoy cocktails and wines while enjoying delicious food.

Upstairs, a more elegant ambience awaits guests, with warm tones, parquet floors, and tablecloths. It's the perfect place for a business lunch, a romantic dinner or an evening with friends. The space also houses a bar with warm curves and a new 200 m² terrace that overlooks the legendary Place du Casino, offering an incomparable view.

The sommelier is in the spotlight with the arrival of Noël Bajor, an expert in French wines, accompanied by a team of six sommeliers. This expertise brings an extra dimension to the brewery and will delight the international clientele who appreciate French wines. In addition to the sommelier, a new mixology is available via three bars, run by about twenty talented bartenders.

Online bookings are generating a real craze, to the point that availability is quickly saturated. For those who want to enjoy the exceptional experience of the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo, reservations are essential. You can choose to book online via the SBM website or by calling the restaurant directly. The anticipation around this reopening is palpable, and the Café de Paris, which was already a popular place for influencers, has become even more essential thanks to its recent renovations.

The Café de Paris, while redefining its essence, perpetuates the celebration of its gastronomic heritage that made it famous. On the menu, you will discover emblematic dishes, such as the onion soup au gratin, offered at €21, the egg mayo with caviar "1868" at €35, the pâté en croûte at €21, and the crêpe Suzette at €22, the latter has been blazing in front of guests for more than a century. The reopening of the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo marks a historic moment in Monte-Carlo, where elegance, gastronomy and history come together to create an unforgettable experience.
